Якщо я не помиляюся - там до самого Домбаю все рівно треба атобусом доїзжати
Я їду із своїм спорядженням, мені літак не дуже зручно, хоч сам ще не відкинув цього варіанту
Прямим автобусом швидше ніж потягом, хоч тут, звичайно, потрібна певна витримка.

Ira, why are you apologising?

It is a friendly open forum of equal friends, not a visa support hotline. If posts get ignored, the authors should wonder why. Perhaps no one felt inspired.

I do think Lugnasad is different from a regular RSCDS club. And it never committed to holding ceilidh. It is a very open and friendly group of people who plainly loves SCD, and they dance SCD. They don’t pretend otherwise. Which seems closer to Scottish traditional virtue than breaking into discussions, without saying hi, with extremely paternalistic posts. Nothing about Scotland is paternalistic.

Lugnasad are damn good dancers; few teachers in RSCDS have the same level of skill – or, I am afraid, the same young age to dance so well and to make sure that the technique is taken forward into the future generations – not only as a social dancing spirit, but as a really beautiful dancing tradition.

Lugnasad is professional because they don’t trade the beauty of good technique for the social nature of country dancing. They keep the balance.

Yes, I miss ceilidh a lot, because I want to drink together, sing and dance; and I can’t catch up with Lugnasad training to participate properly in their socials. But my strategy is to work hard to organise my own party to which I will invite these people – not the Ukrainian-Scottish society which distances itself from both cultures.

I wrote on Leigh Turner’s post in Facebook that the gathering on 26 Nov was not a proper ceilidh either:  the doors were not open; there was more fuss after than invitations before. He agreed (as a guest I can't paste a link - but you can go to facebook and check for yourselves).

Communication between cultures is risky and challenging. It is easier to think that when you have a UK passport  - you are somehow better positioned to teach how to love Scotland, than to earn respect with your own sweat. I assure you that drinking, singing and dancing together is not enough.

BTW, using the beautiful language just to show how little these Ukrainians know about Scotland is manipulative and rude. Gaelic deserves more.

If you want to go to Scotland and see The Isle of Skye, The Cuilin Mountains, The Orkney Islands, learn original Scottish dances in local (not touristic) schools, dance at the ceilidhs in far villages where the local people speak Gàidhlig, watch the seals and otters bathing in the ocean - I can help you with this!  just react in any way, and I will tell you how to find me.

I should also say our dancing school deals mostly with Scottish country dancing among the different types of Scottish dancing, and ceilidh as well as Scottish step dancing are not our priority and a subject of interest.
